Vicaris Quinto

“Quinto” is the italian name choosen for the fifth Vicaris beer. The name is a tribute to the italian brewery equipment and five is also the ABV. The beer is a high fermentation beer (ale) re-fermented in bottle. It is based on the same receipt of the Tripel sharing with it the same softness and the rich aroma.

Val-Dieu Blonde

The Val-Dieu Blond is a fresh and light beer, moderately alcoholized, and a strong friendly character. It is perfect for aperitif or as digestive. It can also accompany a good meal. It does not dry the mouth and develops progressively a pleasant and bitter character. Chilled, it will be more pleasant to drink. It will keep a light white foam coat throughout the tasting.

Straffe Hendrik Brugs Quadrupel Bier 11°

Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel, launched in 2010, is an intense beer, dark in colour and full in taste.

The aroma is elegant, spicy and slightly roasted.

The sophisticated blend of special kinds of malt give the beer a complex character, combining a delicate dryness with hints of coriander, dark fruits, anise and roasted chestnuts. The palate finishes in a syrupy taste.

The refermentation in the bottle creates a living beer that will evolve over the years.

Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel finds an excellent partner in chocolate when it comes to foodpairing.

Seef Bier

Seef beer is an historical Belgian cloudy blond beer from Antwerp. It dates back to the 17th century (and is probably even older), making it one of the oldest existing beers of Belgium. It was the most popular beer of the Antwerp region, so popular that a part of Antwerp was even named after the beer. (Seefhoek) With the disappearance of the smaller craft breweries (due to big industrial competition and WWI), the beer and the recipe were lost. After a search that took over 3 years, the recipe was recovered, and rebrewed using the original ingredients barley, wheat, oats and buckwheat, Belgian Hops and historic yeast. The Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie was formed to relaunch this legendary beer.
Since its relaunch, Seefbier, with it’s accessible yet distinctive taste and aroma, has won the harts of many beer lovers, and has become one of the most rewarded Belgian Beers of the last years, with 7 times the title of ‘World’s Best’ or Gold on different international beer competitions, including World Beer Cup, World Beer Awards (3X in a row), Brussels Beer Challenge and Global Craft Beer Awards. The beer is recognized as official beer of the city of Antwerp, and as historical regional product (streekproduct). Brewed in the center of the city by the Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie.

Saison Dupont

Saison Dupont is a world classic beer and the yardstick for one of Belgium’s most important beer styles. It is the most admired AND imitated Saison in the world. A strong, vital yeast is key to full attenuation and thus to the style. Saison Dupont is straw colored with a dense creamy head. The nose is alive, like fresh raised bread, estery with citrus and spice notes. Full-bodied and malty, it sparkles on the palate and finishes with a zesty hop and citrus attack. Incredibly compatible with food!

Rodenbach Grand Cru

This is an aged Belgian red ale, which is ‘ripened quietly in oak barrels for two years’, according to the label. It has an extremely pungent aroma of rich grapey fruit, with acidic notes, very much like a slightly sour red wine or possibly a gueuze. In the mouth it is slightly sweet, extremely acidic and fruity, with grapes and even cherries discernible, and very lively. Despite the sweetness it is not at all cloying, even thin, with little or no trace of malt. Finish is sharp and fruity.

Oude Gueuze Cuvée René

Gueuze Cuvée René is one of the jewels of our brewery. With its golden colour, its sparkle and its beautiful sherry aromas, this is the queen of gueuzes.

This old gueuze is a blend of old and young lambic matured in large oak barrels called foudres. It is then bottled in a beautiful champagne bottle where a second fermentation takes place. After 6 months, the gueuze obtains a golden colour and is slightly carbonated and tart. But kept in a cellar for a few years, it becomes truly exceptional!

The use of a champagne bottle dates back to an uncertain time period when lambic brewers specialised in recovering empty bottles from great restaurants and other establishments where a lot of champagne was consumed. That is why we chose the most noble of bottles to hold our noblest beer.

Oude Geuze Boon

Oude Geuze Boon is a monument of taste with an alcohol content of 7%. It’s a magnificent blend of 90% mild 18 month-old lambic, 5% strong 3 year-old beer and 5% very young lambic, which provides fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. All our beers are aged in oak casks, mixed in a vessel of 25,000 litres and chilled. Before bottling, we bring the mix to fermentation temperature. The bottles are then placed in an air-conditioned room, which leads to a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is when the lambic becomes gueuze. After several months of aging in the bottle, the gueuze develops its delicate flavour. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the “best before” date!

Taste carefully and you will uncover a fruity grapefruit and ginger flavour with a hint of Muscat grapes. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the wholehearted body and the sublime finish – an explosion of Germanic and Romance cultures.

OMER. Traditional Blond

OMER. Traditional Blond is a top-fermented beer refermented in the bottle. Caracterised with a fine fruity aroma with a subtle bitterness

Mooie Nel IPA / Northsea IPA

Jopen Northsea IPA is an IPA (India Pale Ale) or, in old Dutch, a ‘Duraebel Scheepsbier’. These beers
were extra strongly brewed and extra hopped so that they could be taken along on the long sea voyages to the Dutch East Indies (current-day Indonesia). Nowadays this type of beer is making a comeback because American brewers have breathed new life into this brewing style. This hoppy
amber beer is named after the lake between the towns of Spaarndam and Haarlem, the Mooie Nel (literally: Beautiful Nel). The beer has received an extra hop addition to the tank after fermentation to give it a clear hop character. Silver medal winner Brussels beer Challenge 2014.
